Copacabana, Bolivia

The Periferica Congregation

Richard gave his first Spanish public talk here in La Paz! Such a nice priviledge!  It was such a warm and loving congregation.  We made good friends we will never forget.

Sucre Bolvia- The Most Beautiful City I Have Ever Seen!

Santa Cruz, Bolivia Bethel

Spanish Special Assembly Day

With our friends Candi and Pablo.  The program was wonderful, although we only understood about 25%!  Many parts given by the local missionary brothers in La Paz, as well as several speakers from Santa Cruz bethel.  Candi had an interview about the challenges and peer pressure faced as a youth in Canada.

Valle de La Luna

Now that the effects of the altitude had worn off, we headed to Valle de la Luna.  It's supposed to remind you of the surface of the moon, but looks a lot more like the hoodoos in British Columbia.  It's a wonderful hike through winding paths and precarious walkways.  The views are amazing.
We met a this guy named Lino who played the flute for us.  He seemed to like Richard, called him "Ricardito." :-)

Market

After 4 days of travelling by air and land, we are here.  Unfortunately, with having had little sleep the past few days, the altitude got me.  Richard seemed to fair alright, but I sure didn't.  Our friends live on a fourth floor walk up, which is a daunting task when you can't breathe.  I almost passed out after the first flight.  But, after a nap, felt a bit better.  These are some shots of the Layq'a market.

Welcome to La Paz

Yes, this is La Paz.  It is a crazy packed city with literally houses hanging off the mountainside.  It is a very interesting city with many people who have made their way here from the Andean Mountains.  The culture is incredible and so different from any other central or south american country.  The photo posted above is the view right outside of Candy and Pablo's apartment building, it's also their service territory.  It puts the hills of Nelson to shame.

Bolivia

Counting down the days until we visit our friends in La Paz Bolivia!  Yay!  Got a picture from their parents who are there right now.  We were hoping for at least a little sunshine?  14 days and counting............
